Zuzahlung
The Zuzahlung is the statutory co-payment an insured person pays per ride, unless they are exempt from it.
It is ten percent of the ride's cost, at least five and at most ten euros, never more than the cost of the ride (§ 61 sentence 1 SGB V); outbound and return count separately.
Exempt is anyone who has reached the burden limit: two percent of annual gross income, one percent for the chronically ill in continuous treatment (§ 62 SGB V); the insurer's certificate applies for the rest of the calendar year.
The transport company usually collects the co-payment; in MitaBase the exemption sits with the passenger and in the driver app.
